A city reborn

Shanghai

Lying on the estuary of the Chang Jiang (Yangtze) River is Shanghai. In its heydays, during the 1920s to the late 1930s, it was known as “the Paris of the East”. Today it is regarded as the economic capital of China and a melting pot where Eastern traditions meet Western modernity.

Arriving in Shanghai, you will immediately be overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of a thriving city: its colours, its people, its futuristic skyscrapers.

Look a little closer though and you’ll discover that Shanghai’s history is well preserved. It’s a city where old and new co-exist, where tradition meets innovation, much like The PuLi.
